Italian might not end up at Stamford Bridge after all

Antonio Conte might not end up as Chelsea manager after all as it has emerged that AC Milan may look to hijack the deal.

Conte has been heavily backed to take over from Guus Hiddink at Stamford Bridge at the end of the season, with some reports claiming a three-year deal has already been agreed to.

However, reports this morning are suggesting that a deal isn’t confirmed yet and the Italian might not end up at Chelsea at all.

It’s believed AC Milan are keen to hire the current-Italy manager and will try to hijack his move to the Premier League.

Conte Returning to Club Management

Conte released a statement earlier this month confirming he was leaving his role as Italy head-coach as he wanted a return to club management, and although it looked like it was a confirmation that he’s joining Chelsea, that might not be the case.

According to reports, Chelsea’s announcement of Conte is stalling because of a few disagreements between himself and the club’s board. It’s stated Conte wants to bring five of his own backroom staff, and Chelsea are not willing to allow that many.

If Conte and Chelsea can’t reach an agreement, AC Milan will look to offer him the San Siro hot-seat instead.
