Alex Iwobi is becoming one of Arsenal’s rising stars, keeping the likes of Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain on the bench.
And now the Nigerian international’s father is adamant that the winger is happy in North London, and would even turn down Barcelona if they came calling.
Chuka Iwobi told Africanfootball.com: “At this point in time, he is in the right place. He’s doing well at Arsenal, but should any club come in for him now, the answer would certainly be no. For him, it’s not about the money.
“So, should a club like Barcelona come with more money, he will certainly stay back at Arsenal because now it is not about him making money, it is about him concentrating on his career, progressing and going on to the next stage.
“I see him being in Arsenal for many, many years.”
Alex has three assists for Arsenal this season, though he is yet to find the net. Manager Arsene Wenger is not worried however, and he believes the player will get better with a little more confidence.
“I think he has it all in the locker to pass and give the final ball – what you want from him now is the finishing, and that’s still a little part that is missing. He is too nervous at the moment when he has the possibility to finish.” Wenger said recently.
