Arsenal’s French striker Olivier Giroud has revealed the club’s January transfer plans.

When asked in an interview about the Gunners’ plans in the January transfer window, Giroud said at least one signing may happen.

He revealed: : “I am not worried about it. I know that maybe we sign a player, an Egyptian one…”

The Egyptian player Giroud mentioned may well be midfielder Mohamed Elnery,  who is expected to complete a transfer to the Emirates Stadium this week.

Giroud also stated that Elnery may well be the only new arrival on the red side of North London.

He went on: “Tell me where we need new players? Just tell me where? I will explain the opposite judgment.

“We have very good players as well on the bench, young players waiting to come in. They are very talented.

“Danny Welbeck will come back in one month and a half. Theo Walcott can play up front, Joel Campbell is doing well with his national team up front.

“If I am less good or get injured, we still have a solution.”

Elnery has plied his trade at Swiss side FC Basel since 2013.
