Arsene Wenger opens up about Jamie Vardy saga

The striker rejected a move to the Gunners earlier this summer

Arsene Wenger has admitted that Leicester City centre forward Jamie Vardy gave no reason for rejecting a move to Arsenal.

The England international pulled the plug on the deal before signing a new long-term deal at Leicester.

And now Vardy, 29, is set to line up for the Foxes against Arsenal this weekend.

Ahead of the clash, Wenger has opened up about the failed transfer in a pre-match interview.

When asked if Vardy gave a reason for not moving to North London, the Frenchman simply replied: “No.”

He also added: “Look, you have to respect the decisions of people and that’s part of it and I think in every transfer market you have one or two who have decisions to make and you have to respect them.”
