Borussia Dortmund star Ilkay Gundogan has sparked talk of a move to Liverpool by wishing former manager Jurgen Klopp well in his new role at Anfield.
Klopp was unveiled on Merseyside a few days ago as the successor to the sacked Brendan Rodgers.
And despite Klopp saying he would not be raiding his former club for new signings, the rumour mill is in overdrive.
Gundogan is one player who would be high on any shopping list, and he took to social media to express his gratitude to his ex-boss.
Klopp signed Gundogan in 2011 from Nurnberg, and the German midfielder has made over 100 appearances for the Bundesliga side.
He said via his Facebook page: “Wow! What a hype around the Jürgen Klopp-exchange to Liverpool! Congratulations to Liverpool FC for this commitment!
“I am sure that he, the Reds in the Premier League will again form a genuine top team and wish him all the best!
“And maybe we’ll see this season in the UEFA Europa League again, Kloppo!
