Shakhtar Dontesk star Alex Teixeira has completed a move to Chinese side Jiangsu Suning, according to reports.
The Brazilian star has been heavily tipped to join Liverpool with Chelsea also keen.
But intead he is off to the Far East, with Donetsk agreeing a fee worth £38.4m.
The move has been confirmed by Shakhtar coach Mircea Lucescu. Lucescu told ESPN Brazil: “We have agreed the sale of Alex Teixeira to China.
‘But we will wait a bit to finalise it due to the situation with Luiz Adriano.
‘But it’s all sorted on our side”
The in-demand star is the latest big name to leave European football to try his luck in Asia.
The deal is the most-expensive in football so far this year, and the forward will hook up with compatriot Ramires at his new club.
He was close to joining Liverpool, but the transfer window closed before they could make their move. The Reds wanted to wait until the summer, but they have been beaten to the punch.
