Chelsea are finally clear to complete the transfer of Kenedy after the Brazilian winger obtained a work permit.

The Premier League champions had reached an agreement with Fluminense for a deal worth £6.7m for Kenedy, but the deal had been delayed due to work permit issues.

But according to the Daily Mail, Chelsea have now acquired the necessary documentation and can now exercise their option to purchase the player.

The move had also been threatened by FA Chairman Greg Dyke, who is insisting on a points-based permit system.

Dyke has been critical of the lack of young English players in the Premier League.

However, Blues boss Jose Mourinho seems set to finally get the winger on board.

The 19-year-old, who featured in Chelsea’s pre-season tour to America, will now become the club’s fifth summer signing after Asmir Begovic, Radamel Falcao, Nathan and Danilo Pantic.
