Swansea and Chelsea drew 2-2 in a Premier League fixture at the Liberty Stadium, but what happened? Here’s our match report…

First half

The Blues dominated the first half and took a 1-0 lead into the interval after Diego Costa scored a screamer.

The Spanish striker missed an excellent chance to double his side’s lead, but he missed the target from just yards out.

Second half

Swansea somehow found a way back into the game during the second half.

A counter attack from the home side led to Chelsea goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois fouling Gylfi Sigurdsson in the penalty area.

Sigurdsson dusted himself off the bury the spot kick and level up the scores, becoming the Swans’ leading Premier League goal scorer in the process.

All of a sudden the game was completely flipped on his head.

Gary Cahill was caught in possession by Leroy Fer, who then put the ball between Courtois’ legs to make it 2-1.

Fer’s challenge on the centre-back did look like a foul, but the referee did not see an infringement.

Chelsea pushed for an equaliser and got what they deserved with just 10 minutes to go.

Costa grabbed his second of the afternoon with a fantastic overhead kick to make it 2-2 and set-up a grand stand finish.

However, no team could find the winner and they shared the points on this Sunday afternoon.
