Everton have received an injury blow, with a key defender set to miss the Merseyside derby.

Right-back Seamus Coleman suffered a hamstring injury during the Toffees’ draw with Southampton on Saturday.

Manager Roberto Martinez confirmed that Coleman is not available for the derby clash tomorrow, and may also miss the FA Cup semi-final with Manchester United this weekend.

The Republic of Ireland international joins Phil Jagielka in missing the Liverpool clash.

“Phil Jagielka and Seamus Coleman will definitely be out of the derby but it is too early to make a final decision before the weekend.” said Martinez.

“At this evening’s session we are going to assess Aaron Lennon, Tom Cleverley and Leighton Baines to have a final decision. They are very close and we will have a better idea if they are back for tomorrow.”

Coleman has been an ever-present for Everton this season, with 34 appearances in all competitions.
