Gilberto Silva has thrown his weight behind Manchester United midfielder Fred insisting the player will soon prove his mettle in the United shirt.
Fred was one of the three summer arrivals at the Old Trafford but the Brazil international hasn’t been able to prove his worth. There is still plenty of room for the player to make his presence felt in the midfield department.
Jose Mourinho has used a number of combinations i the middle of the pitch but is yet to find the best his best midfield setup. With Paul Pogba and Nemanja Matic certain in the middle of the pitch, Fred needs to battle it out with the rest of the midfielders.
Gilberto who also happens to be his agent believes the player will show his true colours pretty soon. “I am confident he will do well at United.
“He is a strong character and he has shown that in the past. There is a huge difference between life in Brazil and in the Ukraine but Fred adapted well. He will also adapt at Old Trafford in time.
“I speak with him regularly and it was always his wish to come to England if he left the Ukraine.”
“It takes time to get used to football in England.
“It was hard for me when I first came to Arsenal from Brazil. Everything is different. The pace and the tempo of game. The intensity. It is so different to Brazil.
“For Fred, it will also be different than in the Ukraine.”
