Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola was unhappy with Raheem Sterling’s showboating during the final minutes of yesterday’s Manchester Derby.

Sterling was showing off some step-overs when he had Marouane Fellaini and Alexis Sanchez on his tail.

Manchester City continued their dominant run in the Premier League by beating Manchester United 3-1. David Silva opened the scoring in the 12th minute before Sergio Aguero doubled it early in the second half. Manchester United won a penalty near the hour-mark and Anthony Martial converted it to keep them in the match. However, Ilkay Gundogan sealed the fate of the match in the 86th minute by adding a third.

City return to the top of the table with 32 points, two more then 2nd-placed Liverpool. Manchester United go to 8th in the table, 7 points below the top four and 12 points less than City.

Following the match, Guardiola confronted Sterling about his showboating. In the post-match press-conference, when asked about Sterling’s antics, Guardiola said, “He makes some movement with the legs, we can avoid it. But he’s young, and he’s going to improve.”

Manchester City’s next match is on the 24th against West Ham.
