Newcastle United defender they are ready to cause another upset at Wembley when they take on Tottenham Hotspur this weekend.
The Magpies inflicted a rare defeat on Manchester City which opened the title race wide open. Back to back victories against Cardiff City and Manchester City have lifted them up to 14th place in the table and they will be trying to keep the momentum by getting the better of Spurs.
Mauricio Pochettino’s side will be without their star striker Harry Kane and midfielder Dele Alli and it could be the best chance for the Tynesiders to make the best use of it.
Lascelles said, “Tottenham have a few injuries.
“They lost to Palace the other day and will be looking to bounce back.
“But we’re confident going into the game and there’s no reason why we can’t cause an upset again.
“It was a massive result for us against City even though we didn’t come out of the blocks and we weren’t switched on early.
“Obviously, their quality came through and we maybe forgot what a good team they were.
“It just shows you we have character to stay in the game.
“In times before if we have gone a goal down to a team like that it has been impossible to get back into the game.
“But we stayed in the game and kept fighting.
“We got the first goal and we knew they’d push us but we got the second goal so fair play to the lads.”
