Jose Mourinho has provided a positive update on Luke Shaw’s recovery following the player’s horrific crash in England’s 2-1 defeat to Spain in the UEFA Nations League.
Shaw collided with Spanish right back Dani Carvajal and appeared to have suffered a concussion. The 23 year old had to be treated on the pitch for quite a while and then he was stretchered off to the hospital.
There had been concerns over his health as the player does have the knack of picking up injuries very easily. But this time he seems to have recovered in time although the gaffer didn’t include him in the squad which travelled to Vicarage Road where the Red Devils earned a hard fought 2-1 win over Watford.
Mourinho has confirmed Shaw will be on the pitch against Young Boys as the Red Devils are scheduled to kickstart their Champions League campaign in Switzerland. “Luke Shaw plays Wednesday.
“We can’t do it with one left-back and Ashley Young is not just a left-back, he is also a right-back.
“They are both doing well, they are both different players and I think they both understand that one is a young player and the other is the experienced one and it is good for us to have these two options, plus Darmian.
“He is my emergency man, he is always ready for everything.”
