Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has stated in an interview ahead of the upcoming derby match against Everton that his team is the second best attacking team in the Premier League. Klopp conceded that Manchester City are currently the best attacking team but said that the Reds were not far off from Guardiola’s men.

Liverpool are 14 points behind league leaders Manchester City and six points behind Manchester United but Klopp was adamant that they were catching up to City and that they had a better attack than United.

Speaking to Sky Sports, Klopp said that wanted his players to set Manchester City’s attacking style as a benchmark to aim for and conceded that United were still ahead of them despite his claim of having the second best attack in the league.

“At this moment, Man City’s players are obviously playing the best football in the league. Then, I think we are not too far away to play maybe the second best.

“But still Man Utd have more points, they are more successful in the season and they won the [Champions League] group stage earlier than we did.”

Liverpool scored a stunning seven goals against Spartak Moscow in the midweek Champions League group game which saw them top the group.  This has led to media nicknaming their attacking players the ‘Fab Four’- referring to Liverpool’s attacking quartet of Sadio Mane, Roberto Firmino, Philippe Coutinho and Mohamed Salah.

But Klopp is angered by this nickname as he says that there are other players who deserve recognition as well.

“I have no problem with nicknames like ‘Fab Four’ but that’s disrespectful to other players.”

Klopp insisted  the likes of Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Adam Lallana, Daniel Sturridge and Dominic Solanke all deserved recognition as well.
