Leicester City are close to sealing a deal for Nigerian Ahmed Musa, and could announce the deal’s completion as early as Wednesday.

The Premier League champions broke their transfer record when they signed Nampalys Mendy on Saturday for ÂŁ13,3m.

And the Foxes may be about to break that record for the second time in less than a week, with a ÂŁ16.6m swoop for the striker, 23.

Musa’s agent Tony Harris said: “Everything has been finalised and Musa will be in England for his medical on Wednesday.”

Musa comes with an endorsement from CSKA coach Leonid Slutsky, who added:

“He’ll be leaving on Tuesday and if you look at the way things are done over there you’ll see he is a player just made for English football.”

Musa was a part of Nigeria’s 2014 World Cup squad, and he found the net twice in their 3-2 defeat to Argentina, and he has more than fifty international caps to his name.

He was rated by Goal.com amongst the Hot 100 young football stars in the world to watch in 2011. He has also featured on the list of Top Ten Nigerian International Players of 2010 and was also included in IFFHS list of the best 140 players in the world.
