The former Reds defender gives his opinion on the matter
Ex-Liverpool left-back John Arne Riise has urged Christian Benteke to leave Anfield this summer.
The Belgium international striker moved to Merseyside last summer for £32.5 million.
However, he failed to live up to that price tag and couldn’t replicate the goal scoring form he showed at Aston Villa.
And Riise insists that he agrees with Jurgen Klopp’s decision to sell Benteke should the right offer be made.
‘it will be good for him’
“He came with a big price tag last year and that is always difficult to handle,” said Riise.
“If nobody offers that sort of money again, he may well stay at Liverpool and prove everybody wrong, but I think it will be good for him to go to a club where he can play regularly.”
