According to reports, Manchester City are set to offload Eliaquim Mangala on a season-long loan to LaLiga side Valencia. The Citizens are keen to clear their wage bill and are attempting to offload the Frenchman for the same cause.

Mangala joined City from Porto in a ÂŁ31.7m deal. However, he has miserably failed to cement his place in Guardiola’s starting XI, competing with John Stones, Nicolas Otamendi and Aymeric Laporte for the first-team spot.

The 28-year-old made 34 appearances for Valencia season 2016/17 followed by 15 games for Man City in the next season. He was then loaned out to Everton where he made only two appearances.

Mangala’s last game for Manchester City came in February 2018. Now, however, it has been claimed that he will be given a chance to resurrect his career back in Spain.

Manchester City started their Premier League campaign with an emphatic 5-0 drubbing of West Ham in their first away game of the league season. They will now face Tottenham in their first home game on Saturday.
