Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has been put on the clock if he wants to sign Leroy Sane.
Guardiola confirmed his interest in signing Schalke winger Sane last week, although no deal has been agreed yet.
Sane could cost in the region of £31.2m, but with add-ons the total could move closer to £46m.
Chris Heidel, Schalke’s Sporting Director, has revealed that if City want the player, they must conclude business before the German club depart for Austria as part of their pre-season preparations.
“Either we come to terms or we don’t,” Heidel told German publication Kicker.
“But if Leroy boards the plane to Austria with us he’ll stay a player of this club.”
Guardiola has been a busy man since becoming City’s new manager this summer.
He has signed Ilkay Gundogan from Borussia Dortmund, as well as Celta Vigo star Nolito.
As well as Sane, Pep is also interested in Everton defender John Stones, who is set to cost at least £50m.
