Andreas Pereira wants more first-team involvement at Man United

Manchester United’s 22-year-old Brazilian midfielder Andreas Pereira has expressed his desire to be involved in first-team action every week. The youngster played the full ninety minutes against Valencia in the Champions League as Manchester United slumped to a 2-1 defeat.

It was only the second time this season that Pereira played the full ninety minutes after managing to achieve the feat in the opening game of the season against Leicester City. The Brazilian has started only a couple of Premier League games for the Red Devils this season besides playing a couple of cameos against Wolves and Chelsea.

A product of Manchester United’s youth system, the 22-year-old made his senior debut in the 2014-15 season. However, he failed to make earn a regular first-team role and spent time on loan in the La Liga at Valencia and Granada.

It was an emotional occasion for him on Wednesday night as he faced his former club Valencia in the Champions League. The Brazilian came close to scoring but his powerful long-range effort was saved by the goalkeeper.

And the highly-rated youngster has stated that he wants more regular minutes under his belt. Following the 2-1 defeat, he added, ” I’m hungry for more. I’m trying to do my best, to keep being involved in and out, each and every week”.

“Good for me to be involved, to get some minutes. It was difficult at the start because of the match rhythm, but I did my best. It was, unluckily, not our night tonight.
“I was a little bit rusty but, after a few minutes, it went better and better. But I think each game would get better and better.” “I think we spoke at half-time that we had to come back better and stronger,” added Andreas.
