Manchester United have told French giants Paris St Germain: We want Marquinhos.
The Brazilian defender is currently valued at £39.7m.
The Telegraph claim that Chelsea and Barcelona are also interested in Marqinhos.
The defender, 21, is growing increasingly concerned at not being first choice at PSG, currently third in the pecking order behind Thiago Silva and David Luiz.
There is a chance of a swap deal involving United’s Memphis Depay. They have also expressed interest in the Chelsea trio of Eden Hazard, Diego Costa and Oscar.
Marquinhos arrived at PSG in 2013 from Italian side Roma, and he almost joined Chelsea last summer.
The Blues had two bids for the player turned down, but they have retained their interest.
Marquinhos is adept at both centre-back and right-back, and can also play as a defensive midfielder.
He has drawn comparisons to his PSG teammate Thiago Silva, and even named Silva as his role model when he signed for Roma in 2012.
