Mourinho can’t promise CL finish

Jose Mourinho has admitted he is unable to promise Champions League football at Chelsea next season.

The struggling Champions face a must-win tie against Liverpool at the weekend which many see as D-Day for Mourinho.

A defeat to Jurgen Klopp’s side may well see his reign at the club ended after a horrific opening three months of the season.

Chelsea have only picked up one win in their last seven games and crashed out of the Capital One Cup on penalties to Stoke midweek.

Mourinho said: “How do I deal with this situation – by working. I have no doubt we will get out of this situation. I can not promise we will qualify for the Champions League.”

“Is this a must win game? In my career every game is a must win. I don’t always win, but every game is a must win.”

Doubts

The Blues may go in to this weekend’s game without both Diego Costa and Pedro who both picked up injuries against Stoke.

This will be the first time Klopp and Mourinho have faced each other since the German knocked Mourinho’s Real Madrid side out of the CL in 2013.
