The Gunners are interested in Italy international Simone Zaza, according to reports

Arsenal could be planning a reported £24million move for the former Sassuolo man, according to The Guardian.

Zaza, 24, only arrived at last season’s Serie A Champions this summer, but could be set for a move to the Emirates in January.

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger failed to bring in a single outfield player over the summer and many fans have questioned his lack of action in the transfer market.

News of Danny Welbeck being ruled out until Christmas may force the Frenchman’s hand with Olivier Giroud the only established striker at Arsenal.

Goalkeeper Petr Cech was the only major arrival at Arsenal, completing an £11million move from Premier League rivals Chelsea after 11 years at Stamford Bridge.

Debuchy could have left Arsenal

Defender Mathieu Debuchy was considering heading for the exit, when Wenger opted to pick Hector Bellerin ahead of him in the Community Shield.

“Even if I had not played a lot last season, in my head I would return to start after my recovery. It was a surprise and a disappointment. Let’s say it crossed my mind (leaving)” said Debuchy.

The France international dislocated his shoulder against Stoke City and in his absence, Bellerin took full advantage and made an impact.

Debuchy, 30, only joined Arsenal last summer from Newcastle, after representing his country at the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.
