Their are 10 Premier League games to look forward to over the next three days, however it would appear that Chelsea will once again be the team to watch.
This will be the first game without Mourinho- It will be interesting to see if his departure will have an instant impact.
Here are the weekend fixtures:
Chelsea Vs Sunderland
Chelsea host relegation threatened Sunderland as the Blues begin life without the Special One. This is very much a lose, lose game for Chelsea. If they perform and get the result then fan’s will be questioning why the players couldn’t produce the good’s for Mourinho.
However, if the Blues drop more points. One would have to question why Mourinho has departed when it is clearly the player’s who are bellow par.
Sunderland will head to west London in good spirits, having seen other teams go travel to Stamford Bridge and walk away with maximum points.
Everton Vs Leicester
The Toffee’s host league leaders Leicester City in what is sure to be a thrilling encounter.
Despite the astonishing run of result’s- Leicester City are still not expected to be around the top 4 come May.
Could this be the game where the Premier League shocks end and normality begins to return?
Manchester United Vs Norwich
Louis Van Gaal fears his job may also be on the line after Jose Mourinho was dismissed from Chelsea. And he is probably right with Mourinho the bookies favourite to replace the Dutchman.
The Red Devils have had a fair few problems of their own, besides their extensive injury problems, the Reds have failed to live up to the expectations expected of them and LVG could very well be the next Premier League manager under pressure if performances don’t improve.
Southampton Vs Tottenham
Tottenham have thus far had one of their most consistent Premier League campaign’s and will be looking to take advantage of Chelsea’s short comings and pip them to fourth spot.
Southampton however are a well organised team. Spurs will have to show true grit to overcome the Saints, and it’s these type of games they will need to win if there ambitions are to become reality.
Stoke Vs Crystal Palace
Crystal Palace site pretty on 26 points with Stoke City on 23. This will be a very evenly matched tie.
Stoke are renewed for making life difficult for opponents at the Britannia Stadium, however Palace will be confident that they can cause an upset and walk away with the three points.
West Brom Vs Bournemouth
West Brom sit just above Bournemouth in the table and will be expecting maximum points from this fixture.
However, Bournemouth will be full of confidence after walking away with three points at Stamford Bridge two weeks ago.
This Premier League campaign is extremely unpredictable and results could go either way.
Newcastle Vs Aston Villa
Aston Villa will need to start winning games soon if they are to avoid the drop come may. Newcastle are also hovering around the relegation zone and will be equally as motivated to gain the three points.
They always say that you have to beat the teams in and around you to survive in the Premier League. This game will be tough for both teams.
Watford Vs Liverpool
Who would have thought it eh? It’s nearly Christmas and Watford are above both Liverpool and Chelsea. Don’t be surprised to see another upset on Sunday.
Liverpool will be favourites of course, however you cannot rule anyone out this season.
Swansea Vs West Ham
West Ham have gone off the boil in recent weeks after a tremendous start to the campaign. In contrast, Swansea have struggled to gain consistency and find themselves one place above the drop zone.
West Ham will be favourites to secure the points but Swansea will make them work for it.
Arsenal Vs Manchester City
Monday night see’s second place take on third place in what could be a crucial title decider. Arsenal will be favourite’s given the home advantage. However both these teams are capable of self destructing and again could go either way.
This is lining up to be an exciting weekend with little or no margin between sides. I would hate to be the one predicting the outcome of these games.
