The two meet tomorrow at the Emirates Stadium, kick-off 16:00pm (BST)

The 2016/17 Premier League season officially starts today, but two giants of English football go head-to-head tomorrow.

Arsene Wenger’s Arsenal host Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool in what could be a blockbuster fixture to start their respective campaigns.

Last season saw the two sides share the spoils in both league games.

The pair drew 0-0 at the Emirates early on in the season, before playing out a thrilling 3-3 draw at Anfield in January.

That game saw both Roberto Firmino and Olivier Giroud grab a brace for the Reds and the Gunners respectively.

Whereas former Liverpool midfielder Joe Allen scored a last minute equaliser.

Team news

Arsenal fans can expect summer signings Granit Xhaka and Rob Holding to make their competitive debuts for the club.

However, they will be without centre-backs Per Mertesacker and Gabriel, as well as right-back Carl Jenkinson.

Danny Welbeck is unavailable as he continues his recovery, whilst Olivier Giroud and Laurent Koscielny are not match fit.

On the other hand, Liverpool fans will probably see competitive debuts for new acquisitions Sadio Mane, Georginio Wijnaldum and Joel Matip.

But Klopp could be without striker Daniel Sturridge and versatile midfielder James Milner, who have respective hip and heel injuries.

New signing Ragnar Klavan is also a doubt, alongside his fellow defender Dejan Lovren.
