According to reports from ESPN, Real Madrid are set to sell Gareth Bale this summer and have slapped a £72m price tag on him. Los Merengues were initially said to be holding him out in the range of £90m but have lowered the price as of late.
The Welshman’s future has already been under the cloud since Zinedine Zidane returned to manage the club. Though Bale is interested in staying put with three years still left on his contract, the Frenchman is eager to get him off the wage bill.
Chinese Super League club Shanghai Shenhua are ready to match the 30-year-old’s wages but the player isn’t keen on a move to the East.
In six years with Real Madrid, Bale has scored 102 goals in 231 games and helped the club win 13 titles.
