Jose Mourinho thinks Manchester United striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic should win the Ballon d’Or.
The striker has been in great form for Mourinhos side ever since arriving at Old Trafford, and the Portuguese manager feels he could very well beat the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi to the Ballon d’Or at the rate he is currently going.
“I think what he has done is amazing” said the Manchester United boss to MUTV.
“The number of goals he’s scored, the two matches at Wembley, the trophies, what he is in the group, and what he means. I think he is absolutely phenomenal. No more words.
“I just gave an interview to a big French magazine with big responsibilities in these big awards, the FIFA Golden Ball and so on. I know about Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi. I know what they are and what they are doing but I can’t believe this big man, with the career he’s having, I can’t believe he’s never won it.
So why not this season, if he can do something special?
“If he can win more trophies, reach Stockholm and the Europa League final. Why not this man, who is 35 years old, to get that deserved award?”
