Carlo Ancelotti has urged Gian Piero Gasperini to move to Tottenham Hotspur.

The North London club are on the lookout for a manager after the sacking of Jose Mourinho in April.

A number of top Italian coaches are on the list namely Antonio Conte and Maurizio Sarri.

But according to agent Massimo Brambati, Spurs have contacted Atalanta manager Gian Piero Gasperini and prompted Carlo Ancelotti to help make the move happen.

“Tottenham and Munich contacted him. At Atalanta he found the ideal environment, but going to London might be worth more,” Brambati told Tutto Mercato Web Radio.

“I know he spoke to Ancelotti, who advised him to go there, his football would be exalted.

“For what he did at Atalanta is strange to me that he still hasn’t had the chance to make the big leap.”

Gian Piero Gasperini is now focused on the Coppa Italian final and securing the Champions League for the Serie A club.

“We just need to understand against who we can win,” Gasperini told Sky Sport Italia.

“We are responsible for our own destiny. We must keep our feet grounded because we’ve done nothing yet.

“We have two league games and the Coppa Italia Final. We have played many matches, but the strength of this team is to take one step at a time.

“Nothing can be taken for granted in Serie A. We must focus on our games, this week, we’ll have three.

“We are fighting, we are in the race with Milan, Napoli and Juventus for a top-four finish, and only one won’t reach the target. Anything can still happen.”
