Many reported that a deal has been struck.

But Spurs boss has calmed the storm.

Tottenham manager Jose Mourinho insists Inter Milan have not yet made an offer for Christian Eriksen. Multiple sources in Italy, England and Denmark maintain a deal is imminent for €10-15 million plus bonuses after agent Martin Schoots was caught having dinner with Inter CEO Beppe Marotta last night in Milan.

“You have to ask the agent and Inter Milan because they know more than me,” said Mourinho in today’s press conference. “If they are confident it is because they are ready to make us an offer, which didn’t happen yet. When I see people speaking, especially people with responsibilities, it makes me surprised.

“He is trying to do his best and it is normal until 31 January his brain is not totally focused. It is a normal consequence of the situation. I still don’t understand that optimism. For a few matches people are saying he is playing his last game. Eriksen plays tomorrow.”

Tottenham take on Watford in the Premier League on Saturday and Eriksen’s contract is due to expire in June, so if Spurs don’t do a deal with the Nerazzurri now, he can join as a free agent in the summer.
