West Ham striker Marko Arnautovic has completed a move to Chinese Super League side Shanghai SIPG in exchange for a reported £23m. The English side confirmed the news today via their official website. The statement read:

“West Ham United can confirm that Marko Arnautovic has joined Chinese Super League champions Shanghai SIPG for an undisclosed fee.”

“The 30-year-old Austrian departs after two seasons at London Stadium, during which he scored 22 goals in 65 appearances in Claret and Blue.”

The Austrian marksman left the Hammers just six months after signing a new five-year contract with the club. West Ham ran out of patience after Arnautovic submitted a second transfer request and were eager to ship him off as soon as possible, which is why they accepted a low bid made by the Chinese side.

The Hammers had earlier rejected a £35m bid from an unknown Chinese club in January.
