Robert Snodgrass hails Manuel Pellegrini as a ‘perfectionist’
West Ham brought up their fourth consecutive win in the Premier League with a 2-0 victory over Fulham at Craven Cottage on Saturday. Robert Snodgrass and Michail Antonio were on target as the Hammers continued their resurgence and climbed to 9th in the standings.
Felipe Anderson and Javier Hernandez have really turned it around for Manuel Pellegrini’s men in recent weeks. However, 31-year-old midfielder Robert Snodgrass has been one of the unsung heroes of West Ham’s newly-found success in the Premier League.
Snodgrass has accumulated 2 goals and 3 assists this season and has emerged as one of the best utility players in Pellegrini’s system. Not only has he contributed to the attacking play with goals and assists but he has also tracked back effectively to help out the defenders.
And the 31-year-old has said that he is enjoying life under Manuel Pellegrini after becoming an integral part of the first-team, hailing his manager as a ‘perfectionist’.
Snodgrass said, ” I am just playing how the manager wants me to play”.
The Scottish international further added, ” He is speaking to me a lot about every position. That’s what you want as a footballer and he tells you how you can be better.”
“He’s a perfectionist, very good, and has been at that level for a reason and you are starting to see his ethos now. He is big on clean sheets so we are really happy.
“You need to listen to him, you can only learn. I’m 31 and still learning and have learned a lot this season so the most important thing is to get your head down, work hard for the team and when it’s all said and done, it’s about the team and not individuals. ”
It will be interesting to see whether Snodgrass can propel the Hammers to a top-ten finish with his upturn of form.
