West Ham United have signed Gokhan Tore from Besiktas on a season-long loan.

Tore, 24, is a winger, and worked with Hammers manager Slaven Bilic when the pair were in Turkey.

West Ham have the option to make the loan a permanent transfer if they wish, with a transfer possibly costing in the region of ÂŁ10m.

Besiktas president Fikret Orman revealed the deal in a press conference.

“We have loaned Gokhan Tore to West Ham, they made an offer, and it appealed to us,” he said. “We have a lot of competition for a place on the right wing with Andreas Beck, Gokhan Gonul, Kerim Frei, Ricardo Quaresma, Aras Ozbiliz and Olcay Sahan.”

Tore is comfortable on either flank, and a player that’s capable of taking on his opponent on the inside or outside.

Only Éver Banega (44) has completed more successful dribbles in the last 2 Europa League seasons than Tore.

He will be Bilic’s fifth signing of the summer following the arrivals of Sofiane Feghouli, Toni Martinez, Havard Nordtveit and Domingos Quina.

Tore has a little experience of the English game, he was on Chelsea’s books between 2009-11. However, he didn’t break through into the Stamford Bridge first-team. He left for Hamburg, before ending up in Turkey.
