Wright hits out at Mourinho

Arsenal legend Ian Wright has criticized Jose Mourinho for his recent comments

The Gunners second top goalscorer of all-time has told the Portugese coach to stop worrying about other coaches.

Wright was responding to comments made by Mourinho last week in which he inferred Wenger is the only Premier League manager who is never under pressure.

“He can speak about referees, push people in the technical areas, can cry in the morning and afternoon, nothing happens,” said Mourinho.

“Cannot achieve, keep his job, can still be the king, it is privilege.”

The two managers have never really seen eye-to-eye, with the animosity dating back to Mourinho’s first stint in charge of the Blues.

Wright’s opinion

“Arsene hasn’t achieved as much as Mourinho but seems to have earned more respect from his club owners,” said Wright.

“It’s difficult to criticise Arsene when he’s taken us from where we were at Highbury to the financial position at The Emirates.

“Jose should stop looking over his shoulder worrying about other managers.

“He needs to get over the fact that although he is more successful, Arsene is more comfortable.”

Arsenal are up to 4th in the Premier League, just three points behind league leader Manchester United, after an emphatic 5-2 win away at Leicester City.

The Foxes took the lead thanks to a brilliant strike from Jamie Vardy but goals from Theo Walcott and Olivier Giroud as well as an Alexis Sanchez hat-trick ensured the Gunners ran out comfortable winners.

  1. Mourinho does not know what he is doing. He is probably thinking Wenger is the reason why he is losing
