Sarri relishing Christmas fixture schedule

In a surprising statement, Sarri has said that he is enjoying playing regularly over the holiday period in Chelsea.

Usually managers, specially the ones coming from abroad to England are very much unimpressed with the jam-packed schedule of fixtures in the holiday period. It is a specialty of the English league to have no break in winter and managers in the past have all complained about the injury list which piles up, the lack of intensity which comes due to playing so much over the winter period.

Speaking exclusively to Sky Sports, Sarri had something else to say: “I like to play in the Christmas days. I think it’s very difficult to play every three days. “This season we had a very unusual pre-season. I have no experience of this kind of pre-season. Then we had three weeks of working, then from the end of August we started to play every three days. “So we have no time for training, we have no time for improving the team, we have no time for improving single players. “So I think it’s very difficult to play here, but I think it’s fantastic.”

It remains to be seen if Sarri can spread his joy to his Chelsea team who have a pile of fixtures coming up over January.
