Barcelona boss Valverde has no idea where Coutinho will end up!
“We do not know what will happen, but Philippe is a player who is with us,” he told a news conference after Wednesday’s 2-1 friendly win over Napoli.
“He has not played but the plan we have with him is the same. We’ll see if he plays a few minutes on Saturday.
“But he is a player who is with us and we have him, of course. He is with us and we think he will continue with us.
“In all these transfer windows there is talk of many things.”
Earlier yesterday, Coutinho’s Barcelona teammate Gerard Pique had said even he is unaware of the situation but wanted Coutinho to be happy wherever that would be.
“I don’t know,” Pique told reporters in Miami when asked for an update on Coutinho.
“Obviously I want him to stay but at the end of the day it’s what he wants and I want him to be happy. Let’s see.
“Until the last day of the transfer market we will not know if he stays or not. But it’s not my decision, it’s the club’s and Philippe’s.”
