French Forward and Atletco Madrid ace Antoine Griezmann has opened up on how is tired after a busy 2018 which saw his club win the Europa League and his national team lift the 2018 FIFA World Cup.
Speaking after securing a win for his club, Griezmann said, v”I’m glad we won. I’m not quite yet at my best – it’s been a long year with many games. I’m maybe just lacking a bit of speed but I keep going.”
The Atletico Madrid forward hit out earlier this year after he was snubbed for the Ballon’ D’Or trophy saying that he had done all he could and did not know what else he would have to win to be voted the best player. Griezmann has been touted as one of the best players in Europe and was heavily linked with a move to FC Barcelona this summer, a move he finally turned down in favour of a stay at the Wanda Metropolitano.
Griezmann however, cannot stay tired for too long as the knockout stages of the UCL approach and La Liga remains open for conquest with the final six months of the season arriving thick and fast. Let’s hope Atletico fans get to watch a rejuvenated Griezmann for the New Year.
