PSG midfielder Adrien Rabiot agrees to join Barcelona

If the reports in France are to be believed, PSG midfielder Adrien Rabiot has agreed to join Barcelona and could do so in January. The 23-year-old had a long-standing dispute with the club as the French giants weren’t ready to meet his wage demands.

Rabiot has less than a year remaining on his current contract which is set to expire next summer and the Frenchman has refused to sign a new contract at his current club. However, Barcelona seem to have got their hands on the highly-rated midfielder amidst interest from several top clubs across Europe.

PSG’s Sporting Director Antero Henrique revealed that Rabiot will not be extending his stay at his current club.

Henrique said, “At this point, no. It was a decision made by the club following a meeting I had with the player,” Henrique told Yahoo Sport.

“The player informed me that he would not sign a contract and that he wanted to leave the club by being free at the end of the season.

He further added, “For the player, this will have a very clear consequence: he will remain on the bench for an indefinite period.”

Barcelona seems the Frenchman’s most likely next destination and according to reliable outlet Le Parisien, the 23-year-old has already agreed terms with the LaLiga giants.

But when Rabiot will actually move to Camp Nou remains to be seen. With his contract running down, Barça could probably get him for a cut-price fee during the transfer window.
