Paris Saint Germain had released a statement stating that Neymar would be punished for failing to show up for training on Monday.
An official statement read: “This Monday, July 8, Neymar da Silva Santos Junior was summoned for the resumption of activities of the professional group of Paris Saint-Germain.
“Paris Saint-Germain found that the player Neymar Jr did not show up at the agreed time and place, without having been authorised by the club in advance.
“Paris Saint-Germain deplores this situation and will take the appropriate measures resulting from it.”
However, Neymar’s dad has said that there is no drama involved as the player’s camp had previously informed the Paris club about Neymar’s commitment to some charities.
“The reason for [his absence] is known and has been scheduled for more than a year,” Neymar Snr told Fox Sports.
“He is working with the charities we support and it couldn’t be changed, so he will be back on July 15.
“There is no drama. PSG have been informed.”
The Brazil superstar joined PSG three years ago on a world record deal but has failed to live up to his hype. PSG themselves have failed to make an impact in Europe and Neymar now wants out. What will happen to him this summer?
