Leroy Sane wants Alaba to stay at Bayern Munich amidst Man City links.

Leroy Sane has urged his teammate to avoid Manchester City and remain with the Bundesliga champions.

The German international completed a £54.8m move to Bayern Munich at the start of the month and ended his four-year stay at the Etihad

Pep Guardiola is looking to bolster his defense this summer and the Austrian defender seems to be a feasible option.

Real Madrid has also been linked with David Alaba, who is valued at around £33m as he enters the final year of his contract with Bayern.

Sane told Sport BILD: “I really hope David stays. I would like to play with him. He is a good guy, a great footballer, and we like each other privately,”

“David has proven that he is not only one of the world’s best left-backs, but also exceptional in the centre.”

“I can feel [the excitement at Bayern]. The boys are hot and focused, they have big goals with the club,” he added.

“I think a lot can be achieved. I definitely see a realistic chance of winning the Champions League with Bayern.”

Since Sane was first linked with the German club, there were rumors that he had a falling out with Pep Guardiola.

“Our relationship is good,” Sané said. “There was never any moment where one was tired of the other.”

It wasn’t easy for him to resist Guardiola and City, “but now I had it in my head that I wanted to do something new.

It wasn’t the case that I thought, ‘I can’t play today, because an injury can stop a transfer!’” Sané told Sport Bild. “Things were nowhere near that far along yet.”

When the injury happened, Sané said, “In all honestly, at that moment I was more concerned about my knee than the transfer. I had never had problems with my knee before, so it was a shock.”

“Unfortunately, the injury proved to be very drawn-out.”
