Max Allegri has hinted that he could leave Juventus at the end of this season.

Speaking after Juventus’ 1-1 draw with Ajax on Wednesday night, he said: “My future? A coach does not last forever. I would love to be compared to [Sir Alex] Ferguson,” he said. “Because it would mean staying for many years at Juve.”

Allegri joined the Turin based outfit after Antonio Conte left the job and has guided the Old Lady to four successive league titles in four seasons in charge. He is also well on course to get them the fifth league title but things have not been so rosy on the European front. Juventus despite dominating the league and domestic football in Italy have failed to win a single UEFA Champions League trophy under Allegri with their best effort coming in his early days when they went to the finals of the tournament twice; losing once to Barcelona and later to Real Madrid.

They signed Cristiano Ronaldo this season for a club record fee in an attempt to break their European curse but Allegri could well be on his way out of the club if they do not win the coveted trophy.
