Former Milan CEO and vice-president of the club, Adriano Galliani, has a solution to the problems caused to football by the pandemic of the COVID-19 virus.
Galliani, who is now the CEO of Monza, believes that next season should be played in one calendar year. This is how the championships in South America are played, and until a few years ago, according to this system, the championships were also played in the former republics of the USSR.
Galliani’s proposal is for the 2020/2021 season to be fully played in 2021, ie to start in February and play until November.
“The 2020/2021 season and the next one started in February. In July and August, the matches would be played only in the evening. It would be a pleasure for the spectators, I think the visit to the stadiums would increase, “Galliani told Gazzetta dello Sport.
