Antonio Conte calls and Inter Milan respond.

The two giants have talked regarding few of their players.

There has been a contact between Inter Milan and Barcelona, according to the Spanish newspapers Mundo Deportivo and Sport. Lots of names have been linked with Inter Milan, but the main ones are Arturo Vidal and Ivan Rakitic, as the Italian side is hoping to lure them away from Barcelona in the winter transfer window.

Contrary to earlier claims, Antonio Conte has made up his mind, and now doesn’t want the Croatian due to his age and they are now hoping that they can land Vidal, who has struggled for minutes under Ernesto Valverde this season. Barcelona are more willing to let Rakitic go than the ex-Juventus player, and they are reportedly open to an offer €35 million.

Both reports details how Inter Milan CEO Beppe Marotta and Sporting Director Piero Ausilio are keen to reignite their discussions with the Blaugrana for the 32-year-old midfielder, who is contracted to the Catalan club until 2021.

The Milanese club attempted to sign the player in the summer transfer window this year, but a deal never materialized, and the Chilean ended up remaining with Barcelona. However, he has found limited playing time for the Spanish side so far this season, only starting one time in his eight appearances so far.

Additionally, Sky Italy confirmed the meeting, where the current Serie A runners-up reiterated their desire for Vidal, but the Spanish giant closed the door on his exit. In addition, Barca have set their eyes on the Nerazzurri duo Lautaro Martinez, who has an excellent relationship with his compatriot Lionel Messi, and Milan Skriniar as well.

All reports suggest that any deal depends on whether Inter Milan manage to qualify for the knockout stages of the Champions League or not, putting even more pressure on the Milanese club to perform in Europe’s most prestigious club competition.
