Marotta says Inter haven’t received any offers for Perisic

Chief executive of Inter Milan Giuseppe Marotta has come up with the latest news on wantaway winger Ivan Perisic, claiming that the club has received no formal offers for the Croatian international.

Perisic has been linked with a move to the Premier League, with Arsenal keen to secure to the services of the winger on an initial six-month loan deal with an obligation to buy at the end of the season.

The Croatian was axed by manager Luciano Spalletti from Inter’s 1-0 defeat to Torino in the Serie A amid speculations over his future at the San Siro, with the Croatian making his intentions clear by handing in a transfer request to secure a move away from the club.

Perisic was also linked with a move to Manchester United in the summer when Jose Mourinho was at the helm of affairs but the Red Devils’ interest in him seems to have faded away since his sacking back in December.

While Marotta has admitted that it would be difficult to hold on to Perisic if he doesn’t want to stay, he has also made it clear that the Nerazzurri haven’t received any offers for the 29-year-old.

“It’s difficult to keep a player that wants to leave,” he told Sky Sport on Monday.

“But at this moment there are no offers for Perisic.”

Inter play host to Lazio in the quarter-final of the Coppa Italia on Thursday might.
