One of the most talked about moves this summer has been that of Matthijs de Ligt.
The highly rated Dutch youngster from AFC Ajax has captained the team to the semi-finals of the UEFA Champions League, the Dutch first division title and the domestic cups in Netherlands. All these feats look even more wonderful when we remember that he is only a teenager at the age of 19.
He has also made his international debut and established himself as a starter for Netherlands alongside Virgil Van Dijk at centre back. The biggest topic of discussion regarding him has been of his transfer as he expressed his desire to leave Ajax this season, should the right offer come.
Multiple clubs have been linked with him with so far the biggest runners being Barcelona and Paris Saint Germain. While Barcelona were in the race for him, the PSG executives were thought to have won the race for him as they were going to offer him for money and also a netter role in the team.
However, the latest reports of Sky in Italy are confirming that de Ligt is on the verge of signing a contract with Juventus. It is believed a deal is close. This might be a big win for Juve who already have a strong defence.
