Spanish side confident Chelsea won’t tempt manager
Atletico Madrid are confident that manager Diego Simeone won’t be leaving them for Chelsea any time soon.
The Spanish giants have Simeone tied down to a contract running until 2020, but it has been rumoured that he could be tempted by Chelsea should Jose Mourinho leave.
But AS report that it is clear within Atletico that Simeone won’t be going anywhere this season.
With five years left to run on his deal and no desire on his part to move on, they are confident he will remain in the Spanish capital.
It would cost Chelsea £15m to buy-out Simeone’s contract in Spain, on top of the record £37.5m it would cost to sack Mourinho.
