The 18-year old joined Los Blancos from Brazilian side Flamengo for a reported €30m in the January transfer window.
The Brazilian has been training with Madrid’s first-team squad since the restart and this may eventually gear him up for senior football.
German side Bayer Leverkusen were initially favourites for Renier’s signature but Dortmund now expressed a strong desire for the Brazilian.
Real Madrid believes that he can play in a more important team in Germany and that would guarantee him regular minutes for his development.
The move would also favour Madrid as it will give Reinier an opportunity to play in the Champions League.
Reinier has a long-term contract in the Spanish capital until the summer of 2027.
