The Morocco international has been impressive this season.

But his stay in Germany seems to be limited, for he sees Madrid as his home.

Borussia Dortmund have a grand task this season. Not only do they have to fight against their raging neighbors back in Bundesliga, but they also have one of the toughest Champions League groups out there with the likes of Barcelona and Inter Milan threatening their progress to the knockout stages.

And seeing their performances as of late, there are a lot of things to be optimistic about if you are a fan of the Yellow Wall or, interestingly enough, a Real Madrid enthusiast. The reason for that is quite simple and comes in the form of a 21-year-old defender, Achraf Hakimi.

Los Blancos’ Moroccan loanee has simply been on fire this season, giving his temporary team a huge boost when it mattered the most – in the Champions League. Now has hinted he wants to return to Real Madrid at the end of the season following his Borussia Dortmund loan spell.

The talented defender penned a two-year loan deal at the German club in the summer of 2018 but at the start of April this year sustained a broken metatarsal. He had represented the Bundesliga title challengers 28 times last season and was largely very impressive. He has once again return to action this campaign and has appeared in 15 games this campaign including a starring performance in Tuesday night’s 3-2 win over Inter in the Champions League – where he netted twice.

“Return to Madrid? Why not? Madrid is my home and I grew up there. I am in Borussia until the end of the season and then we will see,” Achraf told Diario AS.

Hakimi is primarily a right-sided defender who can also play in the heart of the defence and he has already amassed 22 caps for Morocco, including all three group matches at last summer’s World Cup.
