Two out for Chelsea and one in?

Chelsea’s pursuit of Atletico Madrid playmaker Arda Turan could see Juan Cuadrado and Filipe Luis move the other way.

Turan has been linked with Manchester United in recent weeks, but is understood to have his heart set on a move to Chelsea, with a move ‘likely’ to happen.

Atleti manager Diego Simeone is eager to line up a replacement for the Turkey international, should he depart for Stamford Bridge, and has set his sights on Juan Cuadrado, according to reports in Spain.

The Colombia international failed to make an impact in his 12 Premier League appearances last season, after signing for £26.8 million on transfer deadline day.

Jose Mourinho is said to want a swap deal involving Cuadrado, that would see Turan join Chelsea for a reduced transfer fee.

Filipe Luis could rejoin Atletico

The Brazil international joined the Blues last summer, but was back up for the majority of the 2014/15 season, to the outstanding Cesar Azpilicueta.

When Simeone was asked about the possibility of Luis coming back to Madrid, he replied:

“He is a player who we love as a person and that he also knows us well and has given a lot to the team. I wish [his return] goes through.”
