Granero backs Perez to succeed again at Real

Former Real Madrid midfielder Granero has backed Florentino Perez to succeed at Real Madrid in the summer despite a horrific season. He also went on to say he has a very happy relation with former Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane.

He said, “I have a very good memory of Zidane. The way he dealt with me [as a youth player coming through with Zidane as a player] was spectacular. I believe that Florentino Perez usually succeeds in his decisions and I am sure that the summer will be successful [for Real Madrid].” He added, “This year the competition [in LaLiga Santander] has been very close and anything can happen. We’ve had some ups and downs but right now we are in a very good moment.”

Real Madrid have been woeful this season. They lost goal machine Cristiano Ronaldo earlier last year and no one has been able to fill in those shoes. In midfield, Modric is old and Solari has frozen out Isco for his personal beef, not the hallmark of a great coach. In defence, Ramos is more interested in hitting opponents rather than helping Real and Courtois seems to big for his own shoes.

Lots to do for Perez then.
