Manchester City better be wary of Real Madrid, as reports suggest that one of their top stars could be subject to some real interest from Los Blancos.

Kevin De Bruyne has emerged on the Real Madrid radar as an option if the Spanish giants can’t land Manchester United’s Paul Pogba.

Kevin De Bruyne is in superb form with Manchester City at the moment, looking back to his best after missing much of last season with injury. He has managed to find the net twice and assisted 8 times so far this season for the Premier League champions.

Don Balon are reporting that Kevin De Bruyne has emerged on the Real Madrid radar as an option to sign in midfield, as a possible replacement for the ageing Luka Modric. While Paul Pogba was initially penciled in as the long term replacement, Manchester United played hardball and did not let him leave Old Trafford in the summer transfer window.

Thus, players such as Christian Eriksen, Bruno Fernandes and Donny van de Beek have come up as genuine contenders to move to the Santiago Bernabeu as alternatives. However, according to the report, Kevin De Bruyne has caught the interest of Real Madrid, and they are willing to spend around 110 million Euros to bring him in.

The 28-year-old is clearly one of the very finest players in world football right now, so it’s unsurprising City might fancy considerably more than that in a market where lesser players have moved for more. They also don’t exactly have an urgent need to make any money due to their wealthy backers, so will surely instead focus on keeping De Bruyne and others in this squad together in their bid to finally conquer the Champions League.

There also seems little reason for the Belgium international himself to look for a move away from the Etihad Stadium after enjoying so much success with the club, who look like they will continue to dominate under Pep Guardiola.
