Pepe Reina is linked to replace Keylor Navas.

Real Madrid are close to selling Keylor Navas to Paris Saint-Germain and they reportedly want Pepe Reina as a replacement.

Paris Saint-Germain are reportedly closing in on signing Real Madrid goalkeeper Keylor Navas – but first the La Liga side want to sign a replacement. Spanish publication Mundo Deportivo claim Navas had agreed to move to PSG in June but the Ligue 1 side’s sporting director Antero Henrique was axed before the deal went through.

The 32-year-old, though, is believed to have informed Madrid that he wants to leave the club this month, with the Costa Rican not prepared to be second choice to Thibaut Courtois at the Bernabeu.

According to Spanish newspapers AS and Marca, Los Blancos have sounded out AC Milan‘s shot-stopper Pepe Reina as a possible replacement. Indeed, it is said that the 36-year-old fits the profile when it comes to what the club are looking for this season.

The report adds that Andriy Lunin will become second choice when he returns from a loan spell at Real Valladolid next summer, meaning that Madrid want an experienced goalkeeper to be the understudy to Courtois for just the 2019-20 campaign.

AS additionally suggest that there would be no issue securing his exit from AC Milan, as the Spaniard is currently a back-up to Gianluigi Donnarumma at the San Siro, and made only just four Serie A appearances during the 2018-19 season. Navas helped Real win consecutive Champions League titles in 2016, 2017 and 2018, but the Costa Rica international was cast aside when Los Blancos completed the capture of Courtois last summer.
